Sunday Sounds - Music at the Winery Courtyard
What recession? Bring the family on Sunday afternoons
for live music at the Courtyard at no charge. Local and
regional musicians and entertainers will brighten up your
day and keep your wallet fat. Grilled foods, soft drinks
and wine available for purchase beginning at noon. Bring
seating if desired. Entertainment 1 - 4 pm.
Third Fridays in June-September – Friday Nights Live
The Winery Courtyard is the perfect setting for our Friday
Nights Live. Each third Friday in June through September
we’ll feature local musicians playing rock & roll and
alternative music from 6 - 9 pm. Our grill will be open
selling food, wine and beer. Bring your own seating! $8 per person. Rain or shine.
June 6 – Just Say CHEESE!
A class for the fromage fan
If cheese is one of your favorite things (like it is ours!) and
you want to know more about it, then our cheese class is
the best place to start. Sit and relax with a plate of some of
Virginia’s best cheeses as Diane Flynt, owner of Foggy Ridge
Cider and local cheese connoisseur, bares the basics. Diane
will guide you through a scrumptious tasting of fresh and
bloomy cheeses, washed rind and aged, plus a variety of
cow, sheep, and goat cheese, all while learning about (and
experiencing!) cheese-pairing fundamentals using Chateau
Morrisette wines, Foggy Ridge cider and Shooting Creek
beer. Hosted in our spacious vaulted timber frame cellar
from 3:30-5:30 pm, $50. Advance phone reservations and
pre-payment is required.
June 13 & 14 – Progressive Pairing
A Blue Ridge Wine Trail Event. Château Morrisette, Villa
Appalaccia, Shooting Creek Brewery, Blacksnake Meadery,
AmRhein Wine Cellars, and Foggy Ridge Cider collaborate
to present a food and drink progressive pairing. Travel with
a handy map to each site for selected food and beverage
pairings enhanced by expert advice on flavor combinations.
Purchase in advance by phone, or at any one of the
participating locations. Saturday 11 am - 6 pm or Sunday

June 21 - Father’s Day Luncheon
Featuring a lavish buffet of brunch and lunch items as
well as a limited a la carte menu from 11 am - 5 pm.
Reservations recommended. Honor Dad by treating him
to brunch or lunch at our restaurant and from 1-4 pm,
enjoy live music on the courtyard. An open grill will be
available for outdoor dining.
July 25 – Kennel Club Exclusive
A mid-year Thank You to our Kennel Club members. Bring
two guests for an afternoon of wine tasting, light hors
d’oeuvres, 25% case discounts and socializing in the
Winery’s Cellar. Your friends may join the Kennel Club for
half price! Reservations requested. 1-4 pm

July 4 – Independence Day
Our Restaurant will be open for lunch 11 am – 2 pm and dinner 5:30 – 9:00. Enjoy live music on the courtyard 1-4 pm. An open grill will be available at the Courtyard 12-4 pm. The Winery and Gift Shop will be open from 10 am - 6 pm and tours will be held at 11 am, 1, 3 and 5 pm.
August 23 – Book Signing
Ellen Crosby and Cantos booksellers invite you to a
reading and book signing of “Riesling Retribution,” a
Virginia Wine Country mystery. 1 - 4 pm on the Crushing
Pad. Ms. Crosby’s books will be available for sale.

September 5 -
Cinema on the Lawn: “Vertigo”
Directed by Alfred Hitchcock, starring James Stewart
and Kim Novak, Vertigo is a brilliantly twisted movie
infused with touches of genius and madness that focuses
on the interconnected nature of love and obsession.
A psychological thriller masterpiece from 1958 and
ranked among the top 10 movies ever made. 8:30 pm,
$5. Sandwiches, snacks, beverages and wine available
for purchase. Bring your own blanket or seating. Picnic
baskets, coolers or outside food and beverages will not
be permitted.
September 7 – Labor Day

September 13 – Pet Adoption Day
You’ve been promising! Bring the children and meet Floyd
Animal Rescue and other rescue groups presenting adorable
pets looking for a caring home. All tests, shots, baths, and
grooming have been taken care of – all you need is a loving
heart to qualify as an adoptive parent. Live music and grilled
food available. 11 am – 4 pm.
